Alain Darte is a member of the AMD HLS compiler team, with expertise in both software and hardware acceleration. Previously an academic researcher, he worked on automatic parallelization, parallel computing, high-level code transformations, front-end and back-end code optimizations, static single assignment.
Alexandre Raymond serves as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Orthogone Technologies. In this role, he is responsible for driving the vision of Orthogone’s research and development activities as well as the development of technologies and intellectual property in collaboration with Orthogone’s clients.
Alimul Hoque is an acceleration solution architect. He joined AMD 3 years ago and is focused on enabling customers creating acceleration solutions for datacenter and edge deployment. Prior to joining AMD Alimul worked for Intel corporation for 10+ years in platform design and datacenter architecture. He holds a BSEE and a MSSE from Northeastern University. He is happily married to Moushumi Nazneen; loves traveling, gardening and watching movies.
Alvin Clark is a Sr. Technical Marketing Engineer working on Software and AI Platforms at AMD, helping usher in the ACAP era of programmable devices. Alvin has spent his career working and supporting countless FPGA and embedded designs in many varied fields ranging from Consumer to Medical to Aerospace & Defense. He has a degree from the University of California, San Diego and is working on his graduate degree at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Amir Zeineddini manages the debug tool solutions in AMD AI and Software Technical Marketing team and has more than 13 years of experience in ACAP/FPGA design and applications. Since joining AMD in 2006, he has held various roles in product marketing, technical sales, and applications engineering and has been an active content provider at Xilinx Developer Forum (XDF) and AMD technical sales conferences. He has also developed many application notes and reference designs. Amir highly values customer feedback and is currently focused on augmenting and advancing the debug offerings in *Vitis* and Vivado Design Suite.
Andre Koehler is an imaging expert at Solectrix who works in various research and development areas such as image sensor calibration, algorithm design, IP implementation, systems integration, prototyping, workflow automation, and evaluating new methods and technologies to bring new camera solutions to life. He has 17 years of professional experience in the design of embedded cameras on various FPGA-based platforms. He has a master's degree in microsystems technology and lives in Nuremberg, Germany.
Barrie Timpe is an AMD Sr. Field Applications Engineer based near Dayton, OH. He’s been supporting area customers in a variety of markets including Aerospace & Defense, Automotive, and Industrial for the past 14 years. His subject matter expertise includes security and functional safety. Prior to his role at AMD, Barrie was a Field Applications Engineer at Memec Insight (prior to their Avnet acquisition) and also held a number of engineering positions doing board-level, FPGA, and embedded software design. He has four children between the ages of 20 and 11 and enjoys hiking, biking, and attempting to cultivate Large Polyp Stony corals and Maxima clams in two reef aquariums.
Benoit Payette is located near Montreal, Quebec, Canada and supports local customers as an AMD Field Applications Engineer (FAE) for AVB, ProAV and ISM markets. Benoit guides engineers through technical solutions and pushes adoption of new techniques and methodologies. Prior to this, he was a Strategic Apps Engineer (SAE) for 16 years where he worked on custom designs, timing closure and to improve AMD solutions. Benoit holds two patents, wrote a few application notes, and gained expertise with VCO replacement and video interconnectivity solutions. Benoit loves to grow his mustache and beard annually during Movember, much to the chagrin of his wife Chantal Racette. Nevertheless, their relationship still holds strong after 27 years and they are proud parents of three boys and one girl. The rest of the time, Benoit enjoys cycling/camping, traveling the world, playing adventure games, and he tries to keep up with younger ball-hockey players.
Bill George is located near Toronto, Ontario and serves as an AVB focused Field Applications Engineer (FAE) for AMD. Bill has been in the FPGA industry for over 19 years, where the last 11 years have been at AMD with a focus on memory interfaces, acceleration, and Vivado-HLS. Bill and his wife have three kids and enjoy boating, traveling, music and off-roading.
Bin Tu received his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at Peking University in 1997, and master’s degree in Computer Science at the Peking University in 2001. In 2001 he started as a Software Engineer at Sun Microsystems China R&D Center, then Oracle (Sun was acquired by Oracle) China/US R&D Center where he worked on Solaris Operating System device driver, network protocols, network virtualization, performance optimization, etc. Since 2019 he joined AMD, now working as a Senior Staff Engineer on AMD Cloud Deployment technology include AMD FPGA Resource Management, Kubernetes, Docker Container, Load Balancer etc.
Bingqing Guo, SW & AI Product Marketing Manager at CPG AMD. Bingqing has been working in the marketing of AI acceleration solutions for years. With her understanding of the market and effective promotion strategies, more users have begun to use AMD Vitis AI in their product development and recognized the improvements that Vitis AI has brought to their performance.
Brett Buma is located in Nashua, New Hampshire and serves as a Field Applications Engineer (FAE) for AMD. Brett is responsible for keeping his customer up to date on the latest AMD technology and supporting their designs from concept into production and has been doing this for 25 years. He is also a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for power. Brett has been married to Lona for 29 years, and they have a daughter and two sons. He enjoys sports, running, traveling, and golf when he can.
Brian Stephens is a Senior FAE for AMD. He has worked with various A&D, Satellite and Networking companies during his 24-year career as an applications engineer in the Mid-Atlantic territory. His specialties include; partial reconfiguration design, advance timing closure techniques, DSP-Sygen implementations, and Vivado-HLS optimization.

Brian Wiec is a Field Applications Engineer in the Detroit area serving AMD Automotive customer base supporting applications in ADAS, autonomous driving, infotainment, and powertrain control. He has worked at AMD for eight years, both in the field and factory support roles with experience in video, signal processing, and embedded systems design/implementation. Brian is always happy to partner with customers to help them solve their technical challenges and enjoys participating in their innovations. In his free time, Brian likes spending time with his family, hiking, listening to music, playing hockey, and watching college football (Go Blue!).
Bruce Karsten is a Processor Specialist Field Applications Engineer based in the Chicago (IL) area and has advocated for and supported AMD Embedded applications for 15 years. Bruce has aided customers to utilize Microblaze, PowerPC, and ARM CPUs as implemented in device families from Spartan-3 / Virtex2 through Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC and now moving into Versal. Bruce is involved in embedded engagements from the early phases of educating on new technology and assisting with architectural decisions through development, board bring up, and integration. Bruce has enjoyed enabling the adoption of AMD Embedded technology in the gamut of markets AMD plays in which include Aerospace and Defense, Automotive, Medical, and Wireless. Outside of work, Bruce turns his attention to photography, waverunning, kayaking, hiking, and attending sporting and concert events with his youngest son (#1 Cubs fan).
Bryan Penner graduated from Purdue University in 1998 with a BSEE degree. Immediately after graduation, he worked as an embedded software engineer for StorageTek in Louisville, Colorado with a primary focus on designing servo control systems. While at StorageTek he began pursuing a part-time MSEE degree from the University of Colorado. In 2001 he joined AMD in the WTS organization as a Customer Applications Engineer. After completing the MSEE degree in 2003, he relocated to Phoenix, Arizona to pursue a career as a FAE supporting customers in Arizona and New Mexico. His primary customer focus was in the A&D market, specifically space and security applications. In 2012 Bryan took his current FAE position in Raleigh, NC supporting customers in the Southeast. Bryan still maintains a Subject Matter Expertise in security.
Byron Sudduth grew up in the shadow of semiconductor fab plants and cherry orchards in the heart of Silicon Valley, Sunnyvale, CA. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from San Jose State University and has worked for AMD as an FAE for over 20 years concentrating on aerospace and defense, test and measurement, and communications markets in the Bay Area. In his spare time, he might be seen playing golf or riding a Husqvarna motorcycle around the Santa Cruz Mountains.
Craig Abramson has been with AMD close to 25 years, most of them as Field Applications Engineer. Now in marketing, he is passionate about gaining and sharing knowledge about machine learning and its applications at the edge. Outside of AMD he writes and plays music and, like so many others during the pandemic, started a music podcast that has so far been enjoyed by thousands of listeners around the globe.
Chris Riley is a FAE based in Colorado with particular expertise in all things memory-related. He has spent his entire career at AMD troubleshooting technical issues for customers and still enjoys it (imagine that!). In his spare time, he enjoys spending time and traveling with his wife and two young kids. He is a ski bum at heart, and can spend hours talking shop and all things ski. He has also become obsessed with mountain biking which occupies any remaining free time when there’s no snow on the ground.
Christophe Charpentier is a Sr. Staff Field Application Engineer at AMD, specializing in embedded processing solutions. Mr. Charpentier has over 20 years of expertise in various PowerPC and ARM-based systems, supporting AMD customers in the Southwest and Rockies regions. Mr. Charpentier has a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from New York Polytechnic University.
Chunye Wang, Principal Software Engineer at CPG AMD. Chunye has been working in software development for 15+ years, now he is leading the Vitis AI software API development. As a key software developer, Chunye has made many contributions to improving the ease of use of Vits AI and has always been passionate about software development.
Clayton Cameron is a Senior Staff FAE based in Toronto. He joined AMD in 2000, supporting telecom customers in the Ottawa office. As an FAE, Clayton greatly enjoys helping customers and solving problems. He also enjoys the diversity of his position and the variety of challenges he faces daily. In his spare time, he lets off steam at the Dojo achieving his 3rd Blackbelt in Juko Ryu Tora Tatsumaki Jiu-Jitsu. At home, he loves to spend time with his wife and three children.
Dachang is a Sr. Technical Marketing Engineer working on Software and AI Platforms at AMD responsible for Vitis AI Runtime and Vitis AI Library. Before joining AMD in July 2018, he served as Product leads of Deephi business department. Presently he focuses on edge side AI and X+ML solution.

David has more than twenty years of service with AMD in various support, applications, and marketing roles. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and is based in Colorado.
David Ratter lives in Riverside, CA and has been a Field Applications Engineer (FAE) for AMD since 2015. His main role is to support customers in the Orange County and LA area in architecting, debugging, and implementing custom designs in AMD devices. Prior to AMD, David was a design engineer for seven years, an AMD dedicated FAE for Nu Horizons for ten years, and an Altera FAE for five years. He has two adult daughters, and in his spare times, loves to travel and spend time outdoors.
Don Matson is an experienced FAE with AMD in the Seattle area. His areas of expertise include timing closure, power, thermal solutions, and machine learning. Outside of work, he enjoys playing basketball, skiing, hiking, kayaking, etc. as well as traveling with his wife exploring the world.
Don Schaeffer has been employed as an AMD FAE for over 12 years. His areas of expertise include Embedded Systems Design, Digital Signal Processing, and Analog-Digital Conversion. Prior to working for AMD, Don worked for 12 years as an ASIC/FPGA design engineer primarily designing wired and wireless communications systems for both military and commercial applications. When not geeking-out, Don enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling with his wife and kids.
Eddy De Waegeneer is located in Belgium, Europe and serves as an Automotive focused Machine Learning Specialist Field Applications Engineer (FAE) for AMD. Eddy’s key roles include introducing AMD ML solutions, training customers on the ML tool flow, and assisting with deployment and optimization of ML algorithms in AMD devices. Previously, Eddy spent two years as a DSP Specialist (FAE) with a focus on handcrafted feature algorithms, Vivado HLS, and ML algorithms, and 15 years prior as an AMD Generalist FAE in Benelux. Eddy is happily married for 14 years and enjoys a wide variety of interests including soccer, swimming, cycling and reading books.
Eddie Wu is a Sr. Product Marketing for Vitis SW Acceleration in AMD Software & AI marketing team. Eddie has been working in FPGA field for more than 8 years. He has a great experience of marketing and technical support in vertical industries, such as Automotive, ISM, Fintech, and Data center, as well as has expertise in AI, software acceleration and heterogeneous computing with AMD FPGA, GPUs, and ASIC.
Emil Lenchak is a Processor Specialist at AMD in the Southeast region in North America. He specializes in ARM-based SoC and ACAP processors as well as MicroBlaze soft-cores. Emil also has a software focus with expertise in embedded Linux, Yocto, virtualization, and containers. Prior to joining AMD, Emil has supported a variety of customers on microcontrollers, DSP processors and digital satellite radio baseband ASICs. He holds a BSEE from Penn State University.
Dr. Fan Zhang serves as an AI Specialist in AMD Tech Marketing Department and is responsible for the innovation and promotion of AMD AI solution to differentiate vertical market worldwide. Before joinig AMD in July 2018, Dr. Zhang served as tech leads of Deephi business department. Before that, Dr. Zhang was the core R&D researcher in an oversee company and has nearly ten years of experiences of project development. Fan Zhang has completed his Ph.D and M.Sc degree of EE in the University of Nottingham.
Frédéric Rivoallon is a member of the software marketing team in San Jose, CA and is the product manager for AMD HLS, besides high-level synthesis Frédéric also has expertise in compute acceleration with AMD devices, RTL synthesis, and timing closure. Past experiences taught him video compression and board design.
Fernando Pinto is an AMD Field Applications Engineer covering the New York Metro area. Prior to AMD, Fernando implemented signal processing algorithms for SatCom products at RT Logic and developed test equipment at Agilent Technologies. Fernando holds a BSEE from the University of Oklahoma and MSEE from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.
Fran Olivieri has been an FAE at AMD supporting the Philadelphia and surrounding areas for over 20 years. He has an MS degree in Computer Design from Penn State and an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. He loves exploring local parks with his dog, Franklin.
Fuzhang Shi is a specialist in AMD AI solution for several edge applications (Automotive, Surveillance, Consumer). Before joining AMD, Fuzhang worked for Deephi as market development manager, expanding DPU markets and proposing AI solutions and supports to customers. His skills include CNN model optimization and deployment,C++, Python and is located in Beijing, China.
George Wang is Sr. product marketing manager for Vitis SW in AMD Software & AI marketing team. George has his Masters in the Digital Signal Processing and his Bachelors in the Science of Electrical Engineering. George joined AMD in 2005, has 17 years’ experience in the DSP, FPGA design. Also has expertise in heterogenous computing, software acceleration with AMD FPGA/SoC//ACAP devices.
Howard Ireland has an M.S.E.E. from Johns Hopkins. He has a solid ASIC and FPGA design background in optical, cable, and satellite telecommunications systems as well as RF design background in radar systems. He holds eight patents. He currently works as a SERDES and RF Specialist for AMD.
Javier Acevedo is a development engineer focused on the deployment of hardware accelerators and ASICs applied either for the next generation of wireless communication systems 5G and industrial testing testbed. In addition, he is pursuing a PhD in the field of hardware accelerators for the 5G Radio Access Network in Dresden.
Jian Zhou is located in Beijing, China and serves as an Machine Learning Specialist Field Applications Engineer (FAE) in Great China sales team. Before joining AMD,, Jian Zhou worked for Deephi as marketing specialist FAE for AI solution support, and has more than 10 years’ experience on embedded system development. He has MS degree and is familiar with AI model deployment based on C++/python.
Jiatian Wu is a full-stack robotics engineer and is currently working as a senior computer vision and machine learning engineer at Nod. Before working at Nod, he worked at XYZ Robotics as a robotics engineer. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a master degree in Robotics. In addition to robotics, Jiatian has experience in parallel computing, edge computing and distributed system.
Jim Devereaux is a Field Applications Engineer in Los Angeles supporting customers with Aerospace and Defense applications. Jim is a Space Subject Matter Expert for AMD and is active in Space industry conferences as well as Space community working groups. Jim has been an applications engineer for over 20+ years. Prior to being an FAE, Jim worked for Invensys as a design engineer building custom communications equipment for the Railroad industry. He also worked for General Dynamics as a Co-op and then again after graduation working on Standard Missile Program. Jim has a BSEE from the Univ of the Pacific and enjoys traveling, hiking, and working on cars.
Jim Heaton is a Machine Learning Specialist Field Applications Engineer (FAE) for AMD, based in San Diego, CA. Jim has been working with programmable logic and embedded systems for over 25 years, and is now focused on enabling customers with the deployment and optimization of ML algorithms in AMD devices. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling with his wife Yelena, fishing, hiking, and keeping his 1964 VW Beetle running.
Joel Ostheller is located near Rochester NY and serves as a Senior Field Applications Engineer and Machine Learning Subject Matter Expert for AMD. Joel’s key focus is helping accelerate time to market for Tier 1 companies in Western, NY, and Cleveland, OH. Previously Joel spent 18 years developing FPGA and ASIC technologies for Harris Communications, SAIC, Northrop Grumman, and Comtech AHA. Joel has four children and enjoys a wide variety of interest including music, sports, travel, and technology.
John Arens is a DSP Specialist FAE at AMD. He helps customers design with AMD DSP IP, and DSP enhanced silicon products like the RFSoC and Versal product lines. John has extensive DSP and Python experience and enjoys when the two come together to form interesting product demos. In his spare time, he spends his time with family, hiking, and traveling.
John Bloomfield is a RF and SerDes Specialist Field Applications Engineer (FAE) serving AMD customers in New England and eastern Canada. He has been helping AMD customers with high-speed SerDes since the Virtex 5 days. In the last few years with the addition of analog RF capabilities with our RFSoC family, John now also helps customers to select, design in, and use these devices. Whether its “digital” serdes, or analog data converters, its all about moving those ones and zeros on and off our devices as fast as possible. Prior to AMD, John was an engineer and manager working in video, image processing, and FPGA acceleration. John lives in New Hampshire with his wife and son. He enjoys coffee, being a bit of a foodie, cycling and collecting tools (and using them too).
John Linn is a Strategic Applications Engineer based in the southern US. He is an embedded software engineer supporting customers globally for AMD across a wide range of fields including Telecom, A&D, and Automotive. John spent many years of his career working on BSPs and AMD device drivers for AMD IP along with the Linux kernel and U-Boot.
John Mitchell grew up in the epicenter of Silicon Valley in Fremont, California. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Masters of Business Administration from Santa Clara University and has worked for AMD as an FAE for over 20 years concentrating on emulation & prototype and automotive markets in the Bay Area and including regions in Southern California. In the early days of his education, John attended TimberTech computer camp ran by technology pioneer. He enjoys teaching his two children, Kyle (age 13) and Ashley (age 17) how to fly drones and build computers and is currently navigating his way into learning how to kitesurf on the Bay.
Jon Cory is located near Detroit, Michigan and serves as an Automotive focused Machine Learning Specialist Field Applications Engineer (FAE) for AMD. Jon’s key roles include introducing AMD ML solutions, training customers on the ML tool flow, and assisting with deployment and optimization of ML algorithms in AMD devices. Previously, Jon spent two years as an Embedded Vision Specialist (FAE) with a focus on handcrafted feature algorithms, Vivado HLS, and ML algorithms, and six years prior as an AMD Generalist FAE in Michigan/Northern Ohio. Jon is happily married for four years to Monica Cory and enjoys a wide variety of interests including music, running, traveling, and losing at online video games.
Joyce Li is a Technical Marketing Engineer working in AMD AI and Software team and has more than 15 years of experience in ACAP/FPGA design and applications. Since joining AMD in 2004, she has held different roles in technical sales, application engineering and technical marketing. During these years, she has worked extensively on Vivado, SDx and Vitis areas. She holds an doctor degree on E.E. from Beijing Institute of Technology.
Kester Aernoudt received his masters degree in Computer Science at the University of Ghent in 2002. In 2002 he started as a Research Engineer in the Technology Center of Barco where he worked on a wide range of processing platforms such as microcontrollers, DSP's, embedded processors, FPGA's, Multi Core CPU's, GPU's etc. Since 2011 he joined AMD, now working as a Processor Specialist covering Europe and Israel supporting customers and colleagues on Embedded Processors, X86 Acceleration, specifically targeting our Zynq Devices and Alveo.
Kumar Deepak is a Distinguished Engineer in the Data Center Group (DCG) at AMD.. He has over 20 years of experience in architecting and developing large-scale complex software and hardware systems. Currently, he is serving as the lead of Debug & Profile features of Vitis software suite and architect of solutions for Database Acceleration using Alveo. He received his B.S in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
Dr. Liang Ma is a Senior FPGA Design Engineer serving in Data Center Group (DCG) at AMD Ireland. He has many designs and publications in FPGA acceleration for various financial algorithms, machine learning algorithms, and other HPC algorithms. Before he joined AMD, he received his Ph.D. degree cum laude from the Polytechnic University of Turin with research interests in low-power and high-performance computing. Most of his previous work focused on FPGA accelerators’ development via AMD high-level synthesis and software-hardware co-design toolchains.
Lindsey Brown is a Product Marketing Manager at AMD and since joining the team in 2019, she has held various roles in event planning, outbound software marketing and data center AI product marketing. She brings an outside perspective to the technical team as she graduated from Chapman University with a Corporate Communication and Advertising degree. Outside of work Lindsey enjoys yoga, rock climbing, and traveling the world.
Luis Bielich is a Colorado native who holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree at the Colorado School of Mines. He has been employed with AMD for 12 years supporting Colorado engineers with their FPGA/SoC designs. He is also an author of five application notes as well as one patent. His recent time has been focused on embedded systems and AMD software solutions. He is looking forward to the new capabilities of the ACAP solution.
As an FAE in the Northeast region, Luke Rengpraphun is interested in the embedded, acceleration, and ML applications along with development tools that enables hardware, software, and system developers to take advantage of these types of solutions. Prior to joining AMD in October 2018, Luke was always involved with programmable solutions while developing products for the military, test, telecom, and industrial markets, and while serving customers in his FAE role at Altera (Intel PSG), Arrow, and Achronix. In his free time, Luke enjoys traveling, sharing tasty foods, and making new connections.
Marco Davila has over 24 years of experience designing and supporting AMD based designs. Mr. Davila is the System IO & RF specialist for the western US, drawing on his vast experience to guide customers in converting requirements into the architecture and design that ultimately constitute the blueprint for proposed solutions utilizing AMD technology. Mr. Davila has also been a department manager at AMD, where he was responsible for the development of specialized test equipment geared towards improving the quality of CPU and GPU silicon. Throughout his career Marco has also held positions in software, firmware, and various hardware architecture and design of T&M equipment working for HP/Agilent Technologies.
Mark Graham has worked for AMD for the past 20 years. He is currently the AMD Field Applications Engineer covering Florida. In that role, he has worked on a variety of applications including communications systems, radar and EW systems, avionics, advanced sensors, networks, and network test equipment, mine detection, and space systems. Prior to AMD, Mark spent ten years at Lockheed Martin developing high-resolution Infra-red sensors for avionics and ground systems, and advanced processors for high-speed image processing applications.
Mark Harvey is a currently serving as an AI/ML Specialist for EMEA and is based at AMD Milan, Italy office. He has worked with AMD since 2003 and previously filled the role of Field Applications Engineer covering multiple applications and markets. He has been involved in programmable logic design and development for more than 25 years.
Mike Mitchell is a DSP Specialist responsible for helping AMD customers with a myriad of Digital Signal Processing problems. Prior to the acquisition of AccelChip by AMD, Mike worked for both Motorola and Texas Instruments. He completed his MSEE at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and worked on a post-graduate degree in semiconductor device physics at SMU in Dallas.
Mike Rockel is located near Chicago (IL) and has served as a Field Applications Engineer (FAE) supporting AMD for 20 years. Mike began supporting AMD in the days of XC4000 FPGAs, XC9500 CPLDs, and M1/Foundation development tools. During these past 20 years, Mike has focused on training customers on the current AMD silicon and development solutions, assisting with design integration issues, and assisting with initial board bring-up with the ultimate goal of getting his customers to market as quickly as possible. Mike has been happily married for 25 years and has two boys, both of whom are currently studying Computer Science in college possibly future AMD developers! In Mike's free time, his interests include following Big Ten college basketball, following USA soccer, music, concerts, and detailing cars.
Nicholas Wong has worked at AMD for 20 years with different roles, including IP logic design and verification. His current responsibilities are AMD Specialist FAE supporting transceiver and RF converter applications. Prior to AMD, Nicholas has worked on Product and Test Engineering, focus on Mixed Signal ASIC Failure Analysis. When customer issues are all fixed, Nicholas enjoys traveling with the family. In between travels, he regenerates energy from his music library.
Parker Holloway has been with AMD for just over a year and focuses on Edge platforms and Acceleration design work. His focus on these topics comes from an interest in a Software centric approach to algorithm design on FPGA and ACAP devices, specifically in the fields of Computer Vision and Robotics. Parker is a graduate of Southern Methodist University and lives in Dallas, Texas.
Ricky Su is a Staff Technical Marketing Engineer in AMD. Ricky has ten years of experience supporting FPGA projects and embedded system projects. These projects are widely spread in communication, data center, and consumer markets. Video and machine learning is his recent interest. He's also enthusiastic in providing best class ease-of-use products to users.
Rob Armstrong leads the AI and Software Acceleration technical marketing team at AMD, bringing the power of adaptive compute to bear on today’s most exciting challenges. Rob has extensive experience developing FPGA and ACAP accelerated hardware applications ranging from small-scale, low-power edge applications up to high-performance, high-demand workloads in the datacenter.
Paul Karatsinides is a Fields Application Engineer for AMD based out of Detroit, MI USA. Paul has his Masters in the Science of Electrical Engineering from George Washington University and his Bachelors in the Science of Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University. Prior to joining AMD, Paul has experience in the defense, telecom, and automotive industries. When Paul is not helping customers, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Stephanie, and their three young children.
Russ Hinch is based in Southern California, northwest of LA and is currently a Generalist FAE at AMD. Russ now supports various markets including Test & Measurement, Aerospace & Defense, and Industrial/Medical. For the past six years, Russ has served as an AMD direct FAE. Prior to AMD, Russ served as an AMD dedicated FAE for AMD distribution partners. Outside of work, Russ enjoys a wide variety of interests including sports, especially basketball, as well as traveling.
Ryan Collett is a Generalist Field Applications Engineer based out of Austin, TX who has been supporting AMD customers for over six years. Ryan assists AMD customers on technical issues, encourages best practices in design methodology, and provides updates on new AMD products and solutions. He takes a special interest in the areas of ethernet and machine learning. Outside of work, Ryan enjoys board games like chess and goes rock climbing for some outdoor exercise.
Shaun Purvis is a Processor Specialist Field Application Engineer (FAE) covering Eastern Canada. He works across a variety of industries, including Wired/Wireless Communications, Audio/Video Broadcast, and Industrial Vision, supporting embedded applications as well as artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. Prior to AMD Shaun worked at a consulting company as an ARM processor and AMD SoC specialist where he did a lot of globetrotting and training as the embedded industry embraced these technologies. Shaun grew up on the West Coast of BC, graduated from McGill University, and started his professional career in California. He now lives with his family in Montreal where he enjoys scaling up mountains in summer and sliding down them in winter.
Steven Howell is located near San Diego and is a configuration/RFSOC SME with mainly A&D accounts. Steven’s key roles include assisting customers in matching the RFSOC portfolio to their DAC/ADC needs and assisting with implementing designs. Steven was previously a configuration solution SME and has extensive experience debugging configuration issues. Steven has been an AMD FAE for 19 years, five of those in the San Jose area, and then in San Diego. Steven is married, has three children, and enjoys swimming and flying.
Taylor has been with AMD since October 2017 covering the Oregon area. He has 12+ years total industry experience in hardware and ASIC design for test and measurement, consumer, industrial and video applications. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, outdoors activities, and watching the Portland Timbers Football Club.
Ted Ennis has been developing and supporting AMD designs for the past 25 years. He has spent the last 20 years as an AMD FAE, supporting a number of different customers in the Aerospace and Defense industry. Prior to AMD, he spent five years doing ASIC/FPGA development for secure communications equipment at Motorola Government Electronics Group in the early 1990s. In the last ten years, Ted has served as a Technical Field Advisor for the AMD Security Center of Excellence, helping to define and develop AMD Security Solutions to address customer requirements and concerns.
Terry O'Neal spent his first eleven years with AMD as an embedded-focused applications engineer working closely with customers to help them implement complex systems using AMD embedded processors and IP. He is now part of the Embedded Platforms Marketing team, focusing on embedded software, ecosystem, and compute.
Thomas Richter received the master's degree in information and communication technology and a PhD from Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), Erlangen, Germany, in 2011 and 2016, respectively. Since 2018, he works as a senior algorithm engineer at Solectrix in the area of image and video signal processing. Currently, his special focus is on machine learning applications as well as on designing classical object detection and tracking methods in the automotive area.
Tom Schwing has been a Field Application Engineer for AMD for 19 years. He has recently moved into an SFAE role concentrating on application acceleration. Prior to this, he was the AMD dedicated FAE for Avnet Distributors. Tom also worked on the Vertical Launch System for Lockheed Martin, various transponder projects for Allied Signal/Raytheon, and the navigation equipment for the Trident submarine with Sperry. He has a BSEE from the University of Scranton and a MSEE from Johns Hopkins University. He is married with two daughters. Tom enjoys playing golf and attending Dave Matthews Band concerts with his family every year.
Dr. Yao Fu is the System Architect in AMD Data Center Group leading the efforts on machine learning and AI solutions. He has led the development of various foundational methodologies optimizing FPGA based deep learning solutions with higher throughput, lower latency and better power efficiency. The INT8 optimization methodology Dr. Fu developed is widely adopted today by most of the deep learning inference solutions on UltraScale and UltraScale+ devices.
Zhenhong Guo is a software development section manager working on foundational library development at AMD, providing an excellent FPGA acceleration solution to customers. Zhenhong received a Masters degree in Microelectronics and Solid-State Electronics from Institute of Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and has spent her career working on supporting quantitative finance and database libraries.
